The Citadel Arts Group's Project

'The SS Explorer Story' is a partnership project with the SS Explorer Preservation Project in collecting memories of the people, scientists and crew,

who worked on Scotland's last surviving steam trawlers.

The SS Explorer scientists carried out marine research around Scotland's coast and uncovered early warnings of climate change.

From their research the Citadel Arts Group team have published a memory book (funded by Leith Benevolent) and produced a play  Sea Changes by Jim Brown.

Jim Brown previously scripted two successful plays inspired by Leith's surviving whalers.
